Group Tours at QITRC
Have a look inside Queensland’s busiest centre for sea turtles.
Get exclusive behind-the-scenes access at Quoin Island Turtle Rehabilitation Centre. We are closed to the public, but do offer turtle centre tours every few months for groups of max 40 people.
What’s Included:
40-minute in depth presentation which goes into the rescue of sea turtles, how they get to our centre, reasons for coming into care, what happens when a sea turtle arrives at our centre, treatments, and our daily tasks.
30-minute guided tour of our centre in which you can see our medical centre, ICU area, and main rehabilitation pool. You will also learn about the patient stories, the care they receive, and watch the patients being fed.
10 minutes free time in which you can have a look at the patients, ask questions, or chat to our passionate volunteers to learn more about their day-to day tasks and vital work to save sea turtles.
Subject to availability: If a patient has fully rehabilitated, you may be able to witness the release of a sea turtle back into the ocean.
30-minute boat ride to Quoin Island through the Gladstone Harbour, and a 30-minute return back to the Gladstone marina.
